About

My long-standing career has provided me the privilege to work with people from all walks of life. I established my foundation by completing a Master of Science degree and internship program at Texas A&M University. My vast experience includes eating disorders, weight management, sports nutrition, cardiovascular care, diabetes management, and a variety of complex health conditions. Over the years, I have consulted at dialysis units, Veteran facilities, behavioral and mental health programs, commissions for the blind, and correctional facilities.

It is essential to establish a healthy relationship with food to achieve lasting wellness. Together, we will identify previous hindrances—such as unwritten food rules, unrealistic standards, 'cheat days,' and the dichotomous view of 'good food vs. junk food'—while clarifying nutrition misinformation. I provide an empathetic and nonjudgmental environment, integrating mental, emotional, and physical aspects to support your success. Practical application is key, whether that means reading nutrition labels, simplifying meal prep, practicing intuitive eating, or navigating social events and holidays.

I am deeply interested in your daily responsibilities, routine, activity level, and what motivated you to seek care at this time. We will review your medical history, available labs, and lifestyle to develop a sustainable eating plan tailored to you—not a restrictive diet.

On a personal note, I enjoy collecting seashells, crafting gingerbread houses, exercising on a Schwinn Air-Dyne, hiking wooded trails, and watching movies based on true events. A unique chapter of my life includes proudly serving aboard the USS McKee AS-41 in the Submariner Navy, honorably discharged in 1985.

Approach to care

My approach centers on helping you foster a healthy relationship with food without guilt or restrictive rules. I believe in taking a compassionate, whole-person approach that considers your lifestyle, medical background, and daily routine. Together, we will work collaboratively to build sustainable, practical habits that empower you to reach your health goals with confidence.

Your First Session

Our first session is a dedicated space to focus entirely on your health and goals. We’ll start by getting to know you—reviewing your medical history, any recent lab work, and your long-term health aspirations. Because I work holistically, we will also explore the foundations of your health, including your energy levels, sleep patterns, and stress. From there, we’ll dive into your current lifestyle and relationship with food to identify where you need the most support. We’ll conclude by building a collaborative plan of action with practical, achievable steps, ensuring you leave the session feeling confident and ready for the next step in your journey.
